ASG Esports’ ScytheLDN delivered a near-flawless performance at VSFighting XIV, cutting through a 103-player field without losing a single set on his way to 1st place.
The final standings tell the story: 7 wins, 0 losses and a 100% set win rate.
But even that doesn’t quite capture how dominant the run was.
Across the entire tournament, Scythe dropped just two individual games.
A Perfect Set Record
From the opening pools through to the final stages of the bracket, Scythe remained unbeaten.
The tournament began with 103 competitors split across four double-elimination pools, before narrowing down to a Top 24 and eventually the final Top 12.
At no point did Scythe give anyone the opportunity to send him to the losers’ side.

That is as convincing as tournament runs come.
Katara Takes Centre Stage
There was another twist to Scythe’s victory.
While Azula had previously been one of the characters associated with his Avatar Legends play, it was Katara who Scythe trusted throughout his championship run.
And the decision could hardly have gone better.
Katara carried Scythe all the way through the bracket as he put together a run that combined consistency, adaptation and control under pressure.
For a player who has only recently begun putting more serious time into Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, winning a major 103-player bracket without dropping a set is a huge statement.
From Street Fighter Top 8 to Avatar Legends Champion
Scythe is no stranger to performing at VSFighting.
At last year’s event, he finished 7th in Street Fighter 6, contributing to a strong showing for ASG Esports alongside ZaiLis, who finished 5th. That gave ASG two Top 8 finishes at the event.
A year later, Scythe returned with his attention increasingly focused on a different game.
The result?
Champion.
Going from a Street Fighter 6 Top 8 finish to standing at the top of an Avatar Legends bracket just one year later highlights exactly the type of competitor Scythe is becoming.
